A holiday on the Isle of Wight opens up a huge range of possibilities, from exploring the Island’s beautiful countryside to discovering historical buildings, zoos and adventure parks. Family members of all ages are bound to find something to entertain them ensuring that a great holiday will be had by everyone. To help you choose what to do, a mini Isle of Wight guide to attractions will show you what’s on offer.

Blackgang Chine

Offering a fun-packed family day out, this adventure pack will be a fun day out, with plenty to do throughout. Featuring huge rollercoasters, butterfly walks, sleeping beauty’s castle and a giant hedge maze there is something for everyone amongst the cliff top gardens. Perched near the edge of the vertical cliffs and rises to 400ft above the sea, for the most thrill-seeking children.

Carisbrooke Castle

Children and go crazy running along the walls of ancient Carisbrooke Castle and there’s even more room in the 800-year-old grounds for them to do more.

They can explore the engaging museum and visitor centre, climb the castle steps or even watch the resident donkeys pulling water from the deep Medieval wells before taking lunch on one of the many large lawns or in the excellent café.

Amazon World Zoo Park

To get up and close with animals, the zoo is a great choice for families on their Isle of Wight holiday. With some of the world’s most endangered species in the zoo, children are able to learn about rainforests and conservation first hand and experience some fantastic endangered animals such as sloths, tapirs and even anteaters. There’s much to see, from numerous species of tropical birds flying overhead, whilst there are always displays going on, such as the falconry display, with a variety of wonderful birds of prey, to a pond full of crocodiles.
