First and foremost you cannot visit the States on a surfing holiday without heading to Cocoa Beach, Florida. The swells can serve up some pretty sweet surf but you have to be there at the right time. Go in summer and your surf trip might end up being a wash out, with you spending more time paddling about than you do riding. Pay a visit in winter however and it will be whole different ball game. The winter surf is a great deal more reliable and often kicks up swells of close to 10ft. The beach and waves are pretty safe making it great for beginners and the party atmosphere here is perfect for chilling out and enjoying yourself. November to March is when you can find the best surf

Secondly, it would be criminal not to visit the iconic place where surfing was born. Hawaii has long been known as a surfing paradise. Mainly because it’s home to some of the best and largest waves on earth but also because it embraces surfing so openly.  It’s so steeped in surfing history that you would not be blamed for grabbing some wetsuits and spending your whole time in the water, however also visiting historic sites, talking to locals about surfboards, or checking out the thousands of surfboards on sale is also recommended. Well, maybe not the whole of your time, you must save a little for the 20ft monsters at Oahu and the sheer beauty of the beaches and surf and Waimea and Ehukai. Heaven on Earth

Last but not certainly not least, no American surf holiday would be complete without experiencing the “surf city” and land of board shorts, Huntington USA.The sun never goes down on this area and its attracts top surfers like bees to honey. Some of the biggest names in surfing spend a lot of their year here and its no surprise there are surf comps going on all the time.It can get a little on the busy side however, there were eleven million visitors last year. So if you’re after more of quiet surfing holiday come and enjoy the water in the winter months.

There are so many places that you could look into for buying a property to stay in when you have the time and I am only going to list a few of the destinations that would suit different kinds of people.

Like To Keep Busy

Florida is a great place to stay and is even better suited for the people that like to keep busy on their travels there are endless things to do. It is one of the best places to stay in if you like to keep busy simply because there are so many things to do. The reason that you are not likely to get bored here is because of all of the theme parks the place has to offer out. Personal favourites include EPCOT, Islands Of Adventure and of course the brilliant, Magic Kingdom. There are many other things to do in the state and they range from taking a trip around the marsh to a hot air balloon ride. The great thing about Florida is that in the evenings you can sit back and relax round the pool and then go out for some really tasty foods. Make sure you have your holiday home insurance

Quiet Type?

On the opposite end of the scale we have the people that go away to sit around the pool during the day and then go out for a nice meal in the evening, how about looking at one of the Canary islands. One of the quietist is Lanzarote because the population is friendly, keep to themselves and you hardly ever see any trouble there. If there is something you need to do on one of those quiet days you could take a trip to see the volcano, it is a truly amazing experience and one that I shall never forget.

Of course the alternatives are endless with other properties available all over the world, make sure you have overseas property insurance or if your thinking about a cottage you get out second home insurance.

Many people argue about which drinks are the best and the most popular in the world. Just so that we are all clear on this, Beer is the best selling alcoholic drink in the world, not wine! Beer is the king of Alcoholic drinks, and although this is a broad area, I would like to look at the more specific drinks available, and in different places. So let’s start somewhere random then move onto some larger places:

Cuba is the place of cocktails. Well in Cuba you have to indulge in the Cuba Libre, a very special drink to this country. Cuba Libre is quite simply just Rum and Coke, the better the rum, the better the drink, and then top off with a sharp slice of lime. People really do seem to like this simple and easy to prepare drink. The next favourite is the typical Mojito, a more flavoured but not so favoured drink.

Egypt, this is our next stop. This is much larger than Cuba, and gets a lot more tourists per Annum. Holiday Makers, just can’t resist Stella in Egypt. Everyone who reads this has probably just thought “what Artois”, and you would be wrong. This beer does have a decent 4.5% which in my mind is still a strong beer. Heineken are actually the owners of the Brewery that supplies this drink.

Now we have America, the biggest of the lot. Well what do you think it is? Probably not what you would presume, but the fastest selling beer is a Budweiser beer, but not Bud. Its Budweiser light. Bud Light can be consumed in ridiculously massive amounts, and you wont feel the effects for a fair while. Although Bud the original is very close, it’s little brother is a bigger seller than itself in the States.

So are you seeking for Egypt holidays, Cuba holidays or how about something a little more different like Maldives holidays, where you can build your own maybe more bizarre cocktail?
