Out of all of the Caribbean Islands, these two have started to generate a much larger amount of tourism. In the Caribbean the tourism trade is very powerful and generates a lot of money for the system, but Barbados is one of the biggest money earners. There history is a little different and so are the Caribbean holidays that they have to offer.

British sailors landed on Barbados in 1625 and realised how much potential it had. This is a large island with sun all year round. The British colonials then took slaves over to work on the Sugar Cane plantains that supported Barbados so well. Eventually, through all the hard-ship it had suffered, Barbados became an independent state. Barbados Offers us an exciting experience if it is considered as a holiday, adventures and underwater safari’s are available to any body that would like to try it. If you want to have an amazing experience down the beach front, Barbados has a fantastic array of bars, clubs and pubs.

Barbados used to be an out of reach destination because holiday prices were so high, but not in the economic downturn prices have dropped massively. There is offers such as; going on a submarine in the ocean and exploring the marine life, or just experiencing all the arts and crafts from the Island. Barbados holidays are always great fun.

St Lucia on the other hand has a somewhat different history. The Beauty of St Lucia was so apparent that the British and French fought over it quite often. The French and the British declared war over each other for these lands over fourteen times. St Lucia was so much sought after by both parties, the name “Helen of the West Indies” came about because it was likened to the myth of Helena of Troy. Every year on the 22nd of February, the people of St Lucia celebrate the day that they became an Independent state in 1979.

St Lucia is now one of the biggest and best wedding destinations on the planet. It also has its very own, one in the world only, dive through Volcano called the sulphur springs. You embark on St Lucia holidays every year and not get bored of its beauty or its adventurousness.
