I was able to take a trip to London, England when I was 16 years old. I wish there was some way I could convey to you how truly awesome it was. Fortunately, I had a camera and some money with me, and was able to leave with some great memories, photos, and souvenirs. Although I had to deal with finding a missing passport and going through tons of electrical adapters trying to find the right one, I left London not only vastly inspired, but also armed with some of the most amazing experiences I have ever experienced.

The Tower of London is a popular British Landmark located in London. Probably most well-known as a place or torture and a royal prison, the Tower of London holds centuries of history that are made available to you and your family when you visit. I spent an entire day walking around learning all the stories and seeing for myself just how the Tower worked. Probably my favorite part was seeing the ravens. These huge black birds strut around the lawn, eyeing  visitors with their black eyes. The ravens have been residents of the Tower for generations, as a superstition states that if they ever left, the kingdom would fall. In respect of this superstition, the ravens have their very own living quarters and their own personal handler.

Everyone knows Big Ben as one of the most iconic monuments for London. Movies, stories, and art have been representing Big Ben for many, many years, and seeing it for yourself will show you why. I also recommend that you visit Parliament. This is where laws, bills, and other legislation takes place for the government of London, England. I’ve really never been interested in the workings of government, but seeing it in action is pretty inspiring. Getting to see the “behind the scenes” government action was really special, and it amazed me how accessible it was.

As cliche as it is, I had to see the Changing of the Guards. Although I didn’t try to make him laugh or kiss him or anything, they are armed after all, but I did get my picture taken. But who knows? If I go back, maybe I will end up kissing one. Many different locations have a Changing of the Guards, and I recommend seeing one for yourself if you are in any of these locations. The plethora of gardens and parks located in London is unbelievable. Huge plots of flowers of every color roll on the landscape, surrounded by swans and beautiful artistic sculptures. Since it is free, and since it makes walking anywhere amazing, I definitely recommend going.

London shopping is unlike any other. All you need is a purse with plenty of money, and don’t forget your passport, and you are set. Camden market is any teenager’s shopping heaven, and some of my favorite souvenirs were purchased there. From classy boutiques to a punk rocker’s paradise, there is something for absolutely everyone, and it is almost impossible not to be walking away with armloads of stuff.

London really has so much available for everyone in your family to experience. Some of my greatest memories come from my London trip, and I hope that I will be able to go back someday. Even having to deal with a missing passport was worth the trip. If you have never been to London, I highly recommend going. You will not regret it.

The city of Cambridge is known all over the planet for being the home of the University of Cambridge, one of the most prestigious centres of learning in England. The University has a total of 31 colleges including; Queens’ College, Robinson College, St Catharine’s College and St Edmund’s College which dominate the city. Although large numbers of people arrive in Cambridge with their main aim being to view the University, Cambridge has so much more to see other than the colleges of the University.  Fortunately there is a large selection of bed and breakfasts in Cambridge to choose from (Important: more information in the last paragraph).

The city is an ancient town dating back to the medieval period and therefore there is a wealth of fantastic architecture. One can walk amongst the ancient streets, relax one of the many parks or gardens or even take a punt down the River Cam. If you like the idea of punting, then you could hire a punt or as an alternative one can hire a chauffeured punt. You will find a fair number of firms offering this facility along the river. Otherwise a small journey up and down the River Cam in a narrowboat.

Cambridge is also known for its churches, thirteen of which are located within the city confines. Of the thirteen churches found in Cambridge town centre it is All Saints Church which is reckoned to be one of the most fine samples of Gothic revival architecture in the country. A further noteworthy church is Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which is one of only 4 Norman round churches in the country. The tiniest church in Cambridge is the Church of St Peter’s, which hides in a quiet part of the town centre. Some of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the city and colleges of the University are to be found from the site of the Great St Mary’s Church, the University church.

As there is such a vast selection of tourist attractions to visit in Cambridge, it would be near impossible to see them all in just one day.  We therefore strongly advise that you stay for a minimum of two days in Cambridge. If you are in the process of deciding upon spending some time in the city of  Cambridge it is vital that you book your  lodgings at the earliest moment as, unfortunately guest houses and hotels in Cambridge tend to be amazingly busy and are frequently fully booked months in advance. If you are a large group you might find that Cambridge apartments prove to be less expensive option.

There are so many different places to see and visit in Cornwall that it can be tricky to know where to begin.  Each city you visit has the standard Cornish feel but provides different attractions and things to do.  Here are some of the most well liked places to remain in Cornwall together with why you must consider selecting them as a destination for your next holiday.

All of Cornwall has a big quantity of history to find out but Tintagel is one of the most noted for its association with the King Arthur legend.  If you want to study some of the history of Cornwall as well as experiencing the wonder of the legends that surround it then Tintagel is the place to go.  There are lots of guest houses, hostels and cottages to stay as well as a bunch of different attractions to see including the Arthurian Centre if you would like to find out more about the famous King. 

if you would like to go for a rather more exciting holiday that includes surfing and night clubs then Newquay is one choice you must consider.  In recent years Newquay has developed a poor name because of the enormous number of young students that visit it in the summertime.  If you like lively nightlife though then it shouldn’t be overlooked.  To get the best of both worlds look for holiday cottage in Cornwall that are close to Newquay though not in the town itself.  This implies you may use the beaches for surfing and the city in the day while not having to stress about the nightlife.
