Going on a gay Caribbean cruise is like going on your own personal adventure that has been tailored made just for your needs. There are all kinds of cruises offered by cruise lines these days, but the gay Caribbean cruise is the highlight of them all. Why? For many reasons, actually. Leading the list of reasons is that this is the one vacation that you can have that will allow you to be totally and complete open.

The gay cruise is set up to allow you total freedom even when it comes down to how you interact with family. You don’t have to run from party to party to have a blast on one of these very special cruises.

No need to worry as you don’t have to find your inner wild child in order to have the perfect cruise for you. Many couples are simply thrilled to be part of their community while being able to do normal everyday things that most couples do. Being separated from the straight community for awhile can be very liberating, even for conservative couples.

Because the cruise ships are so large and diverse, diverse members of the community can engage in all kinds of activities without infringing on each other. Those who prefer quiet nights with long strolls under the moonlight will find their own personal heaven as they slip out onto the deck. Those who prefer a bit of activity on the dance floor until 5 in the morning will also find that they have stumbled into the absolute perfect vacation destination.

Most people go on a gay Caribbean cruise because no matter how out or closeted you may feel you are there is nothing quite like being the majority for awhile. It’s quite different from some other types of gay travel experiences. It’s not hard to find the full spectrum that you’re looking for. You can hit the dance floor  looking for partners just as easily as you can take a stroll around the moonlit deck with  your partner. It’s all relative to you.

If you are interested in a vacation that puts you in control of your surroundings, that offers you all the creature comforts of being at home while catering to your grand and luxurious desires then you need to check out the gay Caribbean cruise. These are cruises that take you into the heart of the GLBTQ community just as fast as they take you into the heart of the islands of the Caribbean.

It’s all about fun, freedom, and celebrating everything you can about being you. The gay community has much to celebrate these days. You might just want to kick it with your own people and stop analyzing it to death. This is your gay Caribbean cruise, so you get to do with it whatever you please.

Traditionally the islands of the South Pacific have not been a favourite destination for gay travel. Conservative cultures have been somewhat reluctant to welcome homosexual travellers and they have gained a bad reputation. However this attitude is slowly changing and more islands are offering more gay friendly options.

Cruise ships are a good way for the gay traveller to approach the pacific islands. Specific gay and lesbian cruises have been offered by the cruise industry for a number of years. The cruise ships run the gamut from low budget to full on luxury. The cruise market was one of the first travel markets to cotton on the there was money to be made catering to the needs of the gay and lesbian clients. These are still a great way to island hop in the South Pacific.

One island that has become much more friendly to the gay traveller is Vanuatu. This pacific paradise has opened a number of adult resorts where same sex couples are actively welcomed. They have also been proactively marketing devotion ceremonies for same sex couples as a romantic option.

Tahiti has undertaken a campaign this year to boost it’s participation in the gay travel market. Tahiti has avoided this segment of the market until now, but in May 2009 hosted their first rainbow party. The Tahitian tourist authority is keen to see high spending gay travellers.

Of the remainder of the pacific islands, Samoa is probably the most gay friendly. While much of the local culture is still quite traditional, the attitude to homosexuality is much more relaxed than other islands. The transgender fa’afafine tradition is a normal part of Samoan life.

The pacific islands are full of friendly people, beautiful beaches and nice temperatures. Visiting here, knowing what to expect, will be a great trip for any gay traveller to the pacific islands.
