Many people could never really afford to go on Safari holidays, so the Tour Operators have started to bring down prices, and now they have become very competitive. There are now so many places for people to go, it can be difficult to make decisions about where to experience these holidays. Kenya and Tanzania, these are the two of the most famous places to go on Safari. Although Tanzania and Kenya are famous for there safari locations, the more specific locations for these great safaris are the Masai Mara in Kenya west of Nairobi and the Serengeti in Tanzania.

If you go by quality and popularity, the Masai Mara is considered to be Africa’s finest national game reserve. If you like Big Cats, then this is probably the best location in the world to see them in the wild, the Lions that is. Big Cat Safari’s are extremely popular in Kenya. The chance to see Lions, Cheetahs and Leopards in their own environment is something that everyone can enjoy. There is also a yearly event that takes place in Kenya, called the Circular Migration. If tourists can time their Kenya holidays just right, then they can get the chance to see almost 2 million herbivores travel through the Masai Mara and into the Serengeti. When you visit a place like this, you won’t forget it quickly, this provides anyone that goes with a great experience, not to mention some great memories.

The Serengeti national park is probably the second best known of all the Africa Safaris and the area it covers is considerably more than the Masai Mara. The Serengeti has many different animals living within it’s borders and includes a wide range of plant types as well. If you were to compare the sizes or the Masai Mara and the Serengeti you will find that the Serengeti is much larger, however they do both have something in common, in the sense that the Circular Migration heads through both of them. You can also combine these holidays with holidays to other areas as well, Zanzibar or the Mauritius provide great double holidays. Although we can all take some nice pictures of all the animals, we do have to respect the fact they are wild, although the elephant seems quite tame, it can actually become very protective over young ones or family!

If you haven’t decided on one of these, personally I recommend Kenya holidays, although Tanzania holidays are great, the Maasai Mara has a lot to offer any tourist. Christmas Holidays are becoming increasingly popular, especially on Safari holidays.

Although this holiday will be fun and entertaining, make sure that you don’t leave anything to chance and prepare for this holiday very carefully.
Obviously, running into an African lion in his own backyard is dangerous but I’m talking about taking the proper preparation measures and knowing what to wear, where to go and having the necessary documents with you all the time! What You Need to Take on African Safari It’s amazing how often the simple things are overlooked? For example safari wear is vital. If your thinking about taking a load of personal items you will find lugging them around to be very difficult.

So what is the most sensible thing to take to wear on your Safari holiday? It’s light clothing in summer and light and heavy during winter. Days can be hot in many parts of Africa however; the nights can be extremely cool. Just watch out for those pesky mosquito’s, they like to get very personal and will pay you a regular visit, and sunscreen along with a few hats is a very good idea!

There are so many famous safari locations, the big five safari’s are known across the world. This is the holiday that will give you some unique experiences, and a lot of people in the future won’t be able to see the same things that you have. Some of the more popular lion safari destinations include the Masai Mara National reserve in Kenya, particularly during the months of the wilder beast migration, you should consider Kenya holidays in the months of July through August. South Africa safari runs through the vast Kruger National Park, Botswana’s magnificent Central Kalahari, Chobe and Linyati parks and Tanzania’s famous reserves, from the Serengeti to Lake Victoria. Tanzania holidays offer some of the best safari holidays around.

There are so many different jungle creatures in the jungle, it’s not just the lion you need to think about. What is the one things that is different from Africa to anywhere else, it has one of the most endearing landscapes in the world. Taking a camera will prove to be the best thing you could possibly do on this holiday.  Make sure that you carry you ID with you every where, it wont be amusing if you end up t customs without a passport.

Recently I had been feeling like I need to get out of this country and go and explore a new avenue in my life. I had been stuck in the same job for the past 20 years and needed a bit of excitement. The time of year came around when I had to use the rest of my holiday entitlement. Initially I decided to visit Turkey and soak up some sun. But I changed my mind when I came across a couple of blogs about Safari holidays.

Instantly I found myself entranced by what I was reading, mainly about all the animals and people that these writers had met. From then on all I could think about was Safari. After I booked my vacation I just could not wait to get on my way.

I arrived in Arusha airport and was on my way to the Serengeti. I was told to stay close to the group, otherwise I could of been at risk of being attacked by animals. I saw so many different animals on my travels, including the Lion and Elephant. I have taught myself so much and seen some amazing things in life.

The best part about it was that I had arrived just in time to see the Circular Migration, where over 2 million herbivores travel over thirty thousand miles following the rains of Africa to find food. It was a mind blowing sight. I went round as much of the resort as I could just so that I could take some great images to take home to friends. My Guide also recommended some South africa Holidays for some great safaris to.

After I got back I told everybody about where I had been and what I had done, everyone was so excited to hear about it. They all loved what I had told them and now we will all be going on Kenya Holidays to the Masai Mara for an office holiday in 6 months.
