With millions of residents packed into this vibrant cultural melting pot, London is always bustling with activity, regardless of the day of the week or the month. Before you arrive there, it is worth making a list of the what you want to see and do, so that you don’t miss out on any of the highlights.

Take the time to see Westminster Abbey, the Tower Of London, and the Houses Of Parliament. You can take guided tours of each of these, so you can learn about their colorful histories, which will give you an even better appreciation of what stands before you. Also, be sure to find time for the House of Lords, the House of Commons, and the accompanying clock tower. Locals sometimes call it St. Stephens Tower just to make a point. Everyone else affectionately calls it Big Ben.

There are various palaces and historical buildings spread around the city. The most famous of them all is Buckingham Palace, home of Her Majesty The Queen. Outside of Buckingham Palace you will see the famous guards clad in their red and black uniforms. You can take your picture with them, and even watch them run through some drills, which is a truly memorable sight to behold .

There is a great transportation system in London, so you can easily and safely travel to all the sights that you want to. If you are only going to be in London for a day or so, it might be easier to go by way of taxi. One thing that always stands out in pictures of London is the double-decker bus. They tower over traffic and are as reliable as public transportation can be. Take a ride just for the heck of it. Next time you see a double-decker in a photo, you can say, “I did that”. Also, spend some time getting out and about on the underground train system.

Minnesota is perhaps one of the greenest States in the United States. Its lakes and mountains make it a perfect place for nature enthusiasts and photographers as well.

If you love landscapes as a subject to your photography, here are some places that you may want to pay a visit on your next trip to Minnesota.

1. Jay Cooke State Park and Lake Superior State Park
The park is located about 10 miles SW of Duluth. You can try your luck by trying to capture photos of the following animal species:
46 different species of mammals (including bears, wolves and coyotes)
173 bird species
16 reptile species that are non – poisonous

Moreover, if rock formations are your thing, then you might enjoy the slate and greywacke bedrock of the St. Louis River that has many shale rock protrusions.

2. Super Hiking Trail (SHT)
Do you enjoy mountain climbing as much as you love photography? If you do, then the SHT is for you. If you are up to it, you can enjoy the 244 – mile trail alongside the Lake Superior. You on the hike, take plenty of photos of the lake and other awesome sights.

3. Voyageurs National Park
The name was given by the French-Canadian visitors long ago that arrived by canoe. This national park boasts of 30 or so lakes that are adorned with approximately 1000 islands. There are many enjoyable activities such as swiming, fishing and canoeing. And don’t forget to take pictures of the islands along the way to record the trip.

4. Minnehaha (Laughing) Falls
This unassuming waterfall can be found in the southeastern part of Minneapolis. Keep in mind that Minnehaha Falls isn’t the only thing there worth photographing. Tourists and locals alike, have found themselves posing beside the statues of Hiawatha and Minnehaha. Both of which are famous because of Longfellow’s “Song of Hiawatha”.

5. The Como Park Zoo & Conservatory
If you are looking for a haven in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the city, the The Como Park Zoo & Conservatory can be your best bet. The park is not only a sanctuary to big cats, other mammals and birds but in its midst, you can also find a Japanese garden where you can take photographs of manicured Zen garden and bonsais. If you are looking for color in your photographs and the flowers and orchids are not enough, you can visit the Enchanted Garden filled with all sorts of butterflies.

I happen to be lucky enough to live in the St. Paul area so my wife and I take our two young children to Como fairly often. It can be difficult to try and capture the images that I see when we are there as a family, so I am scheduling my own excursion to the zoo, and only my camera is invited to go along with me!

These are just some of the many sites you might visit. If you plan to stay longer in the area, there are more parks, trails and contemporary attractions that are picture-worthy. If in the middle of your picture-taking trip, you find the need for some maintenance of your digital camera or DSLR, there are a few shops that actually perform digital camera repair in Minnesota. If you’re looking for Minnesota digital camera repair with a quick Google search and a couple phone calls in the Twin Cities you can easily find what you’re after. Elsewhere you may have to mail in your camera and have it mailed back home to you when your digital camera repair MN is complete.

I know you will enjoy your vacation in Minnesota, and all the photo-ops as well!
